The bobby pin is such a masterful yet underestimated tool. Although small in size the hair pin has been known to save many a style and create a few great ones too. Whether you’re looking to create a style with the bobby pins as your star accessory or you need to bobby pins as means to an end of a great style, bobby pins are your best bet!

Now lets get back to the basics. Hair pins and bobby pins they come in different sizes and colors dependent on their use one can be better than another for a particular look. Here we have locked pin curls, which are a lovely and classy statement style. Although pin curls where used as a means of preserving curls after removing rollers or curling with an iron, Pin curls have become a great natural hair style that allows for a faux short look while also being a neat and easy way to pull your hair up and out of the way in a chic manner.

One of my personal favorites is the pin curled twist look worn here by @msdanti.  I personally used this as a way to get 4 hair styles out of one. Now those of you naturals with lengthy curls may want to mix it up a bit and create shapes that will mimic all the style and fun or you having taken some of the length off! Or maybe you just want to try it out and see if the more long term option is for you, here are some ways of achieving this!

This lovely and full head of curls goes from lengthy bangs to a face framing bangs in minutes using a few bobby pins to hold back some of the length of the front of the head. Once the pins are in the hair in the front will appear shorter giving you the look you want!

The faux bob on the other hand takes a little more doing but is worth the work! You can go from full length to bob or in this case inverted bob with a few bobby pins. There are a few other different ways to tuck away the hair at the back of your head. In order to tuck away the length you can braid the hair at the back of your head and then roll and tuck your hair by pinning it securely onto the braid.
