Be Uniquely You Pic 2

When it comes to image, so many of us as woman are so busy looking at how perfect we think other folks are instead of learning to appreciate and understand our own unique beauty. Just thinking of this makes me think of something my mother used to always say to me and I am sure you all have heard it too, the Grass is always greener on the other side. Now I must admit that I absolutely hated when my mother used to say this to me when I was growing up. She would often say this to me when I would be down on myself because some boy liked some other girl over me. You see I was so busy being upset that he did not like me and feeling like I was not pretty enough, smart enough, good enough that I did not stop to think that maybe I was more than enough. Maybe I was too much for him to handle…LOL. Now that I am older, I totally see what my mommy meant by the grass is always greener on the other side. You see if I am standing on my lawn, looking at someone else’s, than the grass may look nice, pretty and green from this viewpoint, however if I take a walk over to that lawn and look up close, the grass on the other side may not even be real grass or they could have spray painted the brown areas in their grass green. What my mom was trying to teach me is to stop comparing myself to other folk and to be uniquely me.

“Comparison is the Thief of Joy” –Theodore Roosevelt

You see when I stopped looking at everyone else and stand in the power of who I AM, than the perfect man, position, opportunity came to me. What I have learned is that MY life has nothing to do with how great someone else is, but has absolutely EVERYTHING to do with how great I am! What I am great at, someone else is not good at and what you may be good at, I probably can’t do at all. You see God made us each unique that way! He did not make us to be cookie cutters and each be exactly the same. He made us each different. Unique!

When you believe in yourself you walk with a certain self-assured stride and it is in this assured place that you find that wisdom, your specialty, your area of expertise, your greatness, YOUR FIERCE! At that point you can then grow, learn and flourish in it. Once you do that, there is this positive, secure, certain, confident ease that comes in all you do and everywhere you go! When you feel good in your own skin, it is that good feeling that spreads to everyone you touch.

It’s time for us to stop looking at other folks grass and get our grass together in the way it is meant to be. In other words, find the GOOD in YOU and know that all that is GOOD will come to you when you get in a position to be UNIQUELY YOU!
