Morrocanoil claims to be the original hair product line that has brought the ancient uses of Morroccan oils to the US. I am unsure about how factual that is, but it is one of the few products that I have found that can claims that it can be used on all hair types, and I know at least in my case, it certainly lives up to that promise.

The first thing that hits you in the very musky middle eastern smell. I almost mistook the oil as a perfume rather than a hair oil. For me, I do a lot of wash sets and twist outs, so I tried this oil out on my ends and it was absolutely perfect for sealing the ends of bandu knots and flat braids. I believe it would also be good for the ends of twists.

The way that I use it most often is for my flat braids. I am sure to brush the ends out with a coarse brush and then apply the oil twist the ends and then coil the ends back up.  Sometimes I rub the oil in for the final setting to seal in moisture and really set the style. I am constantly experimenting with oils in this way, but have found that this oil in n particular works very well with my 4c hair.

I think that it would also be good as a hot oil treatment, maybe I’ll try that next. I wouldn’t use this oil daily as I think that it is too heavy and could cause your hair to become too oily, but it has done a great job of setting my twist outs and I’ll continue to use it.
